about
"Crossed Wires" was created as part of The Music District's Series titled, Jam Tag. It was a collaborative effort with some of my most favorite musicians in the Northern Colorado region. The song features Jae Smith, Maxwell Tretter, Aaron Varnell, and Cary Morin. Please find more information on each of these incredible musicians below.
The cost for the track is $5 because that's $1 per song purchase per each musician who contributed to this recording. The purchase of songs is extremely helpful in keeping the music community afloat and we appreciate your support more than we can express. Please spread the word by sharing this link. Any little bit helps and adds up quickly.
I wrote the lyrics to this song with heavy thoughts of political division, discrimination and social unrest here in our country and across the globe. We polarize, we argue, we shut each other out, but where does that get us? We can't cancel history. We can't isolate certain groups of people because of our beliefs and backgrounds. There are seven billion of us. We are such a diverse and beautiful mixture of human beings. We can't all agree on everything, but we can always do better. This song is about recognizing our own power and strength within ourselves, educating ourselves, facing fears and standing up for what we believe.

lyrics
Can you help me
Sinking, drowning
In this life like, boulders swimming
Words can’t save us at this point darlin
The pressure’s pounding, building, growing
Who am I to trust
Who they really see
What I really am
Or what I will be
Who am I to trust
Who they really see
What I really am
This mix that is me
Distant cold days
Signals missing
I can see that you’ve stopped listening
Social breakdowns
Tolls on friendships
Both sides, big flaws, there’s no difference
Who am I to trust
Who they really see
What I really am
Or what I will be
Who am I to trust
Who they really see
What I really am
This mix that is me
I had a thought today
How have we come this far
They looked me in my eyes
And I turned and ran for my life
